Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

As 2013 draws to a close, everyone at FIRE Light Group is reflecting on how wonderful this year has been. We've launched a new, and long overdue, company website (though it is still a work in progress). We also launched our shiny new online engagement portal, FIRE Rewards, which we are so excited about! In addition to the online changes, our physical office also got a major overhaul. We completed the facade renovation to our office on Willy St with the help of the City of Madison Facade Improvement Grant Program. We think the before and after pics are pretty impressive!

Diana Decker
This year brought us the wonderful Diana Decker as our new Operations Manager. We are so pleased to have such an excellent addition to our team. She is an extremely talented and hard working lady and we are very proud to call her an FLG employee!

FLG also received some local recognition for our green efforts. We won the 2013 In Business Sustainable Small Business of the Year award! We were also given a "Green Professional" designation for the second straight year from the WI Sustainable Business Council's Green Masters Program. We are humbled and proud! We try hard to be a green office and it is such an honor to be recognized along side big names like American Family and Epic.

In 2013, FLG also hosted its first Engagement Seminar in Madison. It was such a big success we can't wait to add more of them in the future.

2013 was truly great but 2014 looking even better!

Our President & CEO, Sandra Daniel, is poised to take over as the Chair of the Incentive Research Foundation (theirf.org) in just a few short days. She is excited to be taking on such a prestigious position and is looking forward to the challenge.

2014 also brings new growth for FLG. While much of our work is national/international, we are really looking forward to expanding our local presence in WI this year. With so many of our staff members being proud Madisonians, we are eager to share our knowledge and expertise of our fair city (and state) through additional local meeting/event planning and DMC work. Plus, we love the idea of adding more staff to our Madison office and helping grow our local economy.

FLG is also nominated for several other small business awards in 2014 so... fingers crossed!

We hope everyone has a safe and happy new year and here's to a fabulous 2014!

Keeping Employees Happy

Mashable posted a great blog yesterday about employee retention titled 8 Ways to Keep Your Employees Happy.  In it they mention how important having a good corporate culture is and we couldn't agree more.  Last month FLG, in conjunction with Sonic Foundry, Enterprise Engagement Alliance, The Engagement Agency and Coffman Organization hosted an engagement seminar* in our home city of Madison, WI.  Curt Coffman spoke for over an hour on the importance of culture in the workplace and how it relates to employee retention. Check out Curt's book, Culture Eats Strategy for Lunch, and his website for more information!

* We will post more on the seminar including videos of the presentations very soon!

Updates and New Website!

We know it has been awhile since this blog was updated and we are hanging our heads in shame.  But the reasons are really good ones, we promise!  Our business has been growing, we have added new staff and have been working on a brand new website at www.firelightgroup.com. It is in phase one right now and we have big things planned including interactive demos of our brand new engagement portal, updated and expanded resources and reference materials and a more personalized experience for those seeking help with their engagement solutions.  We are also transforming this blog into a resource and news page that will offer not only our original content posts but links to relevant articles and news items in the corporate engagement, travel and meeting and event planning world.

We are very excited about all of the updates and look forward to sharing them with you!

Keep your eyes peeled for improvements to our other social media pages too:
